Crafting Compelling Characters

As writers we sometimes create characters that are not always essential to our plot and fall flat and by the time we realize it's too late to fix. Faced with the problem no writer wants to hear, get rid of the character entirely or do a complete rewrite. Both options far from ideal and require a lot of work. So I created this template to help you determine if a character is fleshed out enough from the start. Ideally you should be able to answer each one of these questions and each characters info should be drastically different from the others. If you find yourself repeating answers it may be a sign that your character needs a little development. Hope this helps! Happy writing!
